SILENT VOICES

Marq English has had a life long interest in many aspects of the paranormal including researching crop circles and ley-lines but has a particular fascination with the phenomena of spirits, ghosts and hauntings. Ever rational in his approach to the subject, he strives to offer alternative explanations for alleged phenomena although very open minded to the possibility of continued consciousness and phenomena.

Marq is also a filmmaker and actor and over the years has directed an assortment of short films and documentaries with some having been broadcast on television including the comedies Shelf Life (2003) and Whatever Happened to Mark Fielding? (2006). In 2007 he wrote, produced and directed his first feature film Return to Ravenswood and 2010 saw the completion of the Doctor Who documentary FANZ. Freelancing he has worked on projects for Ambassador Theatres and the Royal Navy during the Trafalgar 200 Celebrations in 2005. Marq is also the founder of The Sutton Film Festival, which was established in 2002 to showcase short films from new and established directors.

As an actor he has appeared in various films including the features Incidental Weekend (2008) and the vampire movie Blood + Roses (2009). He has provided voice over work for a Doctor Who audio play opposite Peter Davison for BBC licensed Big Finish Productions, played Corgill in the radio pilot City of the Saved and radio trails for BBC Worldwide to name but a few. Marq also spent three long summers in the late 1990’s teaching drama on an American Summer Camp in New Jersey.

Along with his team at Spiral Paranormal, he produces a series of online video episodes and diaries which are available for free download from the Spiral website – www.spiralparanormal.co.uk with selected episodes having been broadcast for The Unexplained Channel on Sky TV. Working for Norie Miles he has also filmed projects for parapsychologist Dr Ciaran O’Keeffe and Steve Parsons of Para.Science, paranormal historian Richard Felix and event companies such as Compass Paranormal and Fright Nights.
 
Marq has written for various publications including Paranormal Magazine and writes a regular column Confessions of a Paranormal Investigator for Ghost Voices Magazine. He is also the author of Paranormal Surrey published by Amberley Books. He has been invited to discuss his views on the unexplained for many radio shows including White Noise Radio, Now That’s Weird, UKPN Radio and BBC Radio. He was also the paranormal advisor on the Quay FM Radio show Tuning In back in 2008.
