Angelic Crystals

Archangel Zadkiel and Amethyst By Hazel Raven

Hazel Raven - Silent Voices

It's now October, and if you have been following my angelic crystals articles for the last 9 months, you should have a really beautiful collection of 'Angelic Crystals' and a good working knowledge of several of the major Archangels. The Archangel who we are focusing on this month is in my opinion one of the most important for clearing and instantly transforming lower energies into positive life-affirming energy. Archangel Zadkiel is the angel of the 'Violet Flame' of transformation and emotional-freedom. The crystal that links most strongly with Archangel Zadkiel is Amethyst, it is used for spiritual protection and purification.

Amethyst Quartz

Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in the Earth's continental crust, after feldspar. It is made up of a continuous framework of SiO4 silicon–oxygen tetrahedra, with each oxygen being shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall formula SiO2.

There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Especially in Europe and the Middle East, varieties of quartz have been since antiquity the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewellery. It has a hardness of 7, so it is ideal for using in jewellery.

Coloured by iron, Amethyst is a popular and readily available variety of quartz whose colour ranges from a pale lilac (Rose de France) to deep purple. Brazil is the leading producer of amethyst. Like many other gemstones the quality varies greatly depending on its source. Amethyst from the Americas is often found in large sizes but African Amethyst is small but carries a higher saturation of colour. Amethyst also comes from Australia, Siberia, Canada, Europe. Chevron amethyst displays bands of purple and white.

History: Pliny stated that the gem was so called from the colour being near to, but not quite reaching, that of wine. The name is also said to be derived from the Greek word 'amethustos', which translates as 'not drunken', and was assigned to the stone from the belief the wearer would not suffer from excess consumption of alcohol.

The legends of the origin of amethyst comes from Greek myths. Dionysius, the god of intoxication, was enraged one day by an insult from an insignificant mere mortal and vowed to revenge himself on the next mortal that crossed his path, creating fierce tigers to carry out his wish. Along came unsuspecting Amethyst, a beautiful young maiden on her way to pay tribute to the goddess Diana. Diana turned Amethyst into a statue of pure glimmering crystalline quartz to protect her from the brutal claws of the tigers. Dionysius wept tears of wine in remorse for his actions at the sight of the beautiful statue. The god's tears stained the quartz purple, creating the coloured gem we refer to today as Amethyst, the gemstone of the gods. The ancient Greeks believed amethyst would prevent intoxication, calm anger and relieve frustrated passions.

The history of adornment with Amethyst can be traced back to the Minoan period in Greece (about 2500 BC), where Amethyst has been found as polished cabochons set into rings made of pure gold.

Amethyst is a crystal of spiritual protection and purification. It has been used as an aid to curbing overindulgence and stopping bad habits. In my crystal therapy work, I have found Amethyst to be a good all-round healer, which amplifies spiritual energies.

Keywords: spiritual, Divine connection, purification, protection

Angel: Archangel Zadkiel

Physical: Amethyst has a wide spectrum of healing energies so it is an effective healer of most conditions. Neutralizes pain, so it can be placed over any painful areas.
Eases headache and migraine - those people who suffer frequent headaches often keep a few tumbled Amethyst crystals in the fridge, ready for when they are needed.
Place the cold Amethyst on the temples.

Emotional:  Soothing: used to ease stress and emotional exhaustion, quickly stabilizing and dispelling incoherent thought patterns and helping people who feel emotionally erratic. Also eases addictions and addictive traits within the personality.

Mentally:  Calms and focuses an overactive mind. Deepens understanding of underlying issues.

Psychologically: Because of its high vibration it is used to enhance meditation practise.

Spiritual:  When placed on the third eye chakra (brow) eases psychic burnout and spiritual exhaustion, restoring peace and rejuvenating the brow chakra.

Magic:  The legendary 'Violet Flame' of St. Germaine is transmitted through this crystal. The Violet Flame brings spiritual purification which purges karmic baggage, illness, etc. and is used for protection from psychic attack.

Meditation:  Aligns thoughts and will to Divine patterns which aids spiritual progress.

Additional Information:  Amethyst is the perfect crystal for enhancing your physical environment. Placing large clusters, geodes or crystals in any area of your home, meditation room or car, brings feelings of being surrounded and protected in a bubble of pure light. I personally have a very large Amethyst geode (goddess shape) in my lounge, and another in my meditation room. Wearing an Amethyst pendant or ring maintains balance and well-being.

Affirmation:  "I am full of spiritual originality and Divine inspiration".

Crystal Placement:  Brow and Crown chakras.

Healing Placement: Amethyst is a transformational healer. When consciously directed it will break down and transform blocked, stuck or stagnant energies. It's pain relieving properties have been demonstrated over and over again, so much so that it never seems to fail in drawing out pain.
For healing use twelve single terminated Amethyst crystals. Place one above the head (Crown chakra) and one between and beneath the feet (Earth Star chakra) place the rest of the crystal evenly around the body (terminations all pointing inwards towards the body). Stay in this energy for twenty minutes or until your intuition tells you to remove the crystals.

Cleansing:  Hold the crystal under running water for several minutes and visualise imbalances flowing away. Then put in the sunlight to dry.

Archangel Zadkiel

Name means ‘Righteousness of God’

Angelic Violet Flame of Freedom

This high frequency spiritual energy known as the ‘violet flame’ instantly transforms lower energies into positive life-affirming energy. This flame transmutes, transforms and brings joy. Violet is the seventh ray and has the shortest wave length. It is also the fastest: as such, it symbolizes a transition point between the visible and the invisible to the normal human vision - therefore it has always represented divine alchemy and transmutation of energy from the gross physical into the Divine.
Archangel Zadkiel is the angel of mercy or benevolence. He is also known as 'the holy one', who teaches trust in God and the benevolence of God. He brings comfort in our hour of need.

Using the Archangel Zadkiel 'Violet Flame' before meditation practice instantly purifies your body and aura, which will enhance your meditation experience, helping calm the mind and bring the necessary stillness which is most desirable for enhanced spiritual growth. This energy can also be used for clearing planetary miasms and planetary or group karma. Use it often to release harsh self-judgement and assist you in seeing your own angelic qualities.

Invocation: Archangel Zadkiel and the angels of joy, direct the energy of the violet flame of freedom into all areas of my body, chakras and aura until I am purified of all negativity and I stand in my mighty I AM presence, shining like a precious jewel in the crown of the Creator.

Meditation on the Violet Flame of Transformation

This meditation draws on angelic help of Archangel Zadkiel, guardian of the Violet Flame of transformation. Zadkiel's Violet Flame has the highest vibrational frequency which, when summoned, brings soul freedom and joy by releasing you from your limiting behaviour, concepts and karmic miasms - including past-life memories that may have been carried over to this lifetime.

This flame purifies the chakra centres, giving relief from addictions and addictive traits. It works as an amplifier of healing and spiritual energies. When directed by Archangel Zadkiel it will break down stagnant energies caused by anger, hatred, resentment, bitterness, jealousy, intolerance, blame, fear and guilt. It gives protection from over-indulgence miasms which have lodged in the emotional body.

How to Practice this Meditation

1) Sit in a quiet room and close your eyes.

2) Focus on your breathing and take three deep cleansing breaths, in through your nose and release slowly through your mouth........allowing your body to relax.

3) Once relaxed, call on Archangel Zadkiel, saying " Archangel Zadkiel and the angels of joy, direct the energy of the violet flame of freedom into all areas of my body, mind, chakras and aura until I am purified of all negativity and I stand in my mighty I AM presence, shining like a precious jewel in the crown of the Creator".

4) Relax and let yourself be completely enveloped in the potent energy of the Violet Flame.

5) Enjoy this wonderful experience as you feel yourself purified on all levels.

6) Feel your body and aura gently bathed and purified as the Violet Flame transmutes all that is negative and cleanses all areas of your mind, body, chakras and aura. Feel it instantly giving you relief from addictions and addictive personality traits.

7) Allow your mind to become calm as you feel the divine spark fully activating within you, thereby aiding spiritual growth.

8) When you see or feel the Violet Flame diminishing, the meditation is over.

9) Allow yourself sufficient time to come back to everyday waking consciousness.
