Iolite, also known as Cordierite is a magnesium iron aluminium cyclosilicate. Cordierite, which was discovered in 1813, is named after the French geologist Louis Cordier (1777–1861). Iolite has a hardness of 7 and it forms in short prismatic crystals that have an orthorhombic structure. Commercial use, Catalytic converters are commonly made from ceramics containing a large proportion of cordierite. As the transparent variety iolite, is often used as a gemstone. Gem quality iolite varies in color from sapphire blue to blue violet to yellowish gray to light blue as the light angle changes. Iolite is sometimes used as an inexpensive substitute for sapphire. It is much softer than sapphires and is abundantly found in Sri Lanka, India, Burma, Australia's Northern Territory, Namibia, Brazil, Tanzania, Madagascar, Connecticut, and Canada.

History: The name iolite comes from the Greek word for violet. Another old name is dichroite, a Greek word meaning 'two-colored rock', a direct reference to cordierite's strong pleochroism. Iolite has also been called 'water-sapphire' and 'Vikings' Compass' because of its usefulness in determining the direction of the sun on overcast days.

Spiritual:  Iolite facilitates deep meditation, opens visionary centres and assists communication with other realms. Enhances creativity, wonderful for artists and writers, especially those who communicate with higher realms.

Magic: Awakens and sustains one's psychic gifts, clears negative thought-forms. Aids past-life work.

Meditation: Place on brow chakra, or lie in a triangulation of three iolite crystals.

Additional Information: It is safe to carry or wear iolite, but when placed on the brow chakra it gives full psychic activation and integration, though only if the lower five chakras are fully balanced; otherwise there is a danger of over-stimulation.

Cleansing: Hold the stone under running water (a natural stream or clear mountain spring is perfect) for several minutes and visualise imbalances flowing away. Then put in the sunlight to dry and recharge.

Secret Mysteries

Raziel Hebrew: רזיאל‎ "Secrets of God" is an archangel within the teachings of Jewish mysticism (of the Kabala of Judaism) who is the
"Keeper of Secrets" and the "Angel of Mysteries". Raziel is associated with the Sephira Chokmah (the second of ten) in Olam Briah,
one of the Four Worlds of Kabalistic theory. The famous Sefer Raziel HaMalach 'Book of Raziel the Angel' attributed to this figure is
said to contain all secret knowledge, and is considered to be a book of magic. He stands close by God's throne, and therefore hears and
writes down everything that is said and discussed.

Archangel Raziel is said to have given the book to Adam and Eve after they ate from the forbidden Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil,
which resulted in their expulsion from the Garden of Eden, so the two could find their way back "home" and better understand their God.

Raziel's fellow angels were deeply disturbed by this, and as such, stole the book from Adam and threw it into the ocean. God Himself decided
not to punish Raziel, but instead retrieved the book by means of the angel Rahab and returned it to Adam and Eve. According to some
sources, the book was passed on through the generations to Enoch (believed to have become Archangel Metatron), who may have incorporated his own writings into the tome. From Enoch, the archangel Raphael gave it to Noah, who used the wisdom within to build Noah's Ark. The Book of Raziel was said to have come into the possession of King Solomon.

Archangel Raziel (Ratziel) gives us Divine information by allowing us to glimpse the enigma that is God. This knowledge is total, absolute, unequivocal and perfect. When we receive these amazing Soul illuminating ‘insights’ we need no confirmation of our ‘understanding’ from others. Our crown chakra is opened, the flames of enlightenment descend, we transcend normal reality, we just are! In this moment we experience our own immortality and Divinity, we literally gaze on the ‘countenance of God’.

Archangel Raziel's temple of light (Ashram) is situated etherically over a primary vortex in the Pacific ocean. This is where the spiritually advanced island empire of Lemuria or Mu once flourished some 70,000 years ago. Lemurian society was in complete harmony with nature and followed the Divine law - 'The Law of One'. This law sees everything as interconnected. Lemuria sank to the ocean bed leaving only a few islands visible some 12,000 years ago.
