This month’s question is cobbled together from many similar questions asked at my teaching events.
“How do I know what my Spiritual path is and when I should be starting my Spiritual work?”
If I had a £ for every time I’ve heard this question.
Logical
We all live in the real world and we must not denigrate this life by always seeking a higher purpose or reason.
This life is part of our higher purpose and if we haven’t found our Spiritual path yet it is because we haven’t completed the life lessons required before we start our Spiritual journey.
Although it’s hard to hold back try not to push the river and allow life to flow in its own good time.
You may have young children. You may be short of money and/or the time to start your Spiritual journey. You may have some maturing to do (don’t ever think you’ve stopped growing up just because you’re getting older). To make a success of the Spiritual path your basic circumstances need to be right from the word go.
So saying, it is important to go out there and meet new people in order for the other side to set up the circumstances by which you will discover the beginning of your Spiritual path.
So start a diary, record daily events and look at the lessons you can learn from them. Visit Spiritualist centres and churches. Go to see inspirational speakers. Take any course that you find interesting (and can afford), and wait for something to call to your heart. In doing all this you will be undertaking the preparatory work that will help to launch you.
EMOTIONAL
Make sure that you’re not seeking the Spiritual path because you’re unhappy with your everyday life.
It is far easier to walk the path if your life is in balance and ‘good working order’. The Spiritual path isn’t an easy one to travel, by definition is requires you to grow, learn and face and overcome challenges to your beliefs.
If you are deeply unhappy in your basic everyday life then it is better to acknowledge that and put it right so that you can concentrate on your Spiritual work when you are called to do so and work from an emotionally secure platform. You will be more successful far faster if you do.
SPIRITUAL
You are already a Spiritual being so just by being here you are walking your path.
Do not under estimate anything you do in the real world, in your work, in your home life, for your family or friends. Everything you do is part of the path you have chosen for this life.
As such you should begin by taking notice of your life – what is called ‘living mindfully’ – by becoming aware of every moment rather than mulling over the past or wishing for the future. It is in the moment that your life lessons occur and it is when you miss them that those lessons recur, which can of course delay your forward momentum.
So step one is to be mindful. Step two is to consider joining a Spiritual circle, meditation circle or other teaching group and get in touch with your Guides.
Once you are in touch with your Guides and become aware of their guidance you can be sure that your next step will be made very clear to you at the right time. Your Guide is your greatest strength on your Spiritual path.
Knowing your Guide is there: Don’t get in a state about this, do the meditations, trust the process and know that you will be able to feel and/or see your Guide only when the time is right. However, never make the mistake of thinking that your Guide isn’t around; they always are, and they will never get frustrated by your or give up on you and you will connect with them at the right time.
TO THOSE WHO ASKED THE QUESTION(S):
It’s good that you’re thinking about these things but not good if you’re getting frustrated with yourself.
As I said, trust in the process of life, get out there and meet new people and try new things, and know that when the time is right everything will fall into place.
It’s no good yelling at the Spirit World either, they’re going by your Akashic Record and they’ll listen only when you decided that you’re good and ready.
Just remember, all the time you’re reading, attending courses, talks and workshops, living everyday life, and learning, you are not wasting time. It is fascinating how everything you’ve been through and learned suddenly clicks into place at the right moment.
You will always be in the right place at the right time.
Wishing you happy days and peaceful nights
