Ghost Hunt Reviews

By Compass Paranormal

July has been a really interesting month for all the Team at Compass Paranormal Events. With lots of varied and interesting locations for us to investigate, where on numerous occasions we have witnessed many strange experiences, are they paranormal happenings?? We will let you the reader draw your own conclusions.

A 17th Century Home built for the Radcliffe family with a huge amount of history including the rumours of secret tunnels and deaths within the home.

A number of the guests during the night were overcome by intense emotional feelings during the vigils, was this just a coincidence as they were all female guests!!

The strangest occurrence was yet to come and not to a guest but actually to one of our own team members.

The tale began at the top of the notorious staircase in this fabulous building. Once you have climbed up you are faced with a long and dark passageway which leads into each of the upper floors rooms. One of the largest rooms, a former Bedroom is at the very top of these stairs where a number of our guests were conducting a vigil. At the same time a second vigil was taking place at the other end of the corridor in another room.

The team leader was standing in the doorway of this room so that they could monitor both vigils and record the results, one of the guests who had already told us was himself a medium was calling out on behalf of his group. The team leader sensed that there was a person in the passage way only to find that it was empty when they looked, at that very same time another person popped their head out from the larger room into the passageway to see who was there?

They asked “had anybody left our room and walked along the passage?” but of course nobody had even though they had both heard the footsteps!
The medium then announced that he felt there was a male presence in the corridor wanting to join them in the room but was unable to enter due to the team leader being stood there. At this exact moment the team leader began to sway and according to the guests who witnessed this they swayed violently from side to side and were eventually pulled out of the door way and thrown a few feet into the corridor! Another member of the team rushed to them and helped them back onto their feet and return to the room to take a seat. Once seated they then began to gag and choke and so they were immediately removed from the room and out into fresh air.

I know that this is a precise account of what happened on the night and was not dramatised in any way as the team leader was myself, Denise Mott. What happened I cannot explain, did I faint or was it a muscle spasm. I do not know. All I can say is I had a rather large bruise on my left hip, where I landed and no other bruising at all anywhere else. Was it paranormal or did I literally go bump in the night?

The compass team have also been extremely fortunate to work with Brian Shepherd (Psychic Medium & Psychic Artist) from TV’s Most Haunted. His accuracy and his amazing Physic drawings left the guests at Landguard Fort and Alton Tower’s wanting to experience more.

Barrie John on all his events with us this month has not only astounded the guests with his accuracy and personal messages on the Ouija boards but the team itself. Fort Amherst on Saturday 24th July was a welcome return to this wonderful Historic location for Barrie John and the Compass Team, since the Charity event last February for Help 4 Hero’s. A truly wonderful night was had by all who attended this Ghost Hunt. Even the curator’s of this spectacular Fort were astounded by Barrie’s accuracy and to quote ‘ It was the first time I’ve ever seen the glass working on a board and the K2 meters responding at the same time’.

The Team and Barrie John are all looking forward to our August events. Another spectacular Charity Event at Oxford Castle 14th August with Barrie John and Dr Ciaran O’Keeffe in aid of the ‘Keith Bennett Appeal’.

I look forward to meeting everyone at this event.

To end my stories this month I will end with another personal spooky tale. We stayed in Kent for a few days break. On taking over our spectacular property for the weekend whilst myself, my husband and son were unpacking we all heard a female voice shout hello from downstairs, our two German Shepherd dogs ran down the stairs tails wagging with us all following, thinking our dear friends had arrived, only to find nobody there. The property was situated alone from any other buildings in the close proximity and we had a clear view all around. So had the previous occupant of this grand lodge just welcomed us to their once family home?
