Carnfield Hall
We moved up into the attic where there was more K2 activity. We did a table tipping experiment with some great results.
Whilst in bedroom 2 more noises were heard outside in the corridor so a female guest and staff stood outside and heard a loud noise at the same time as the guests inside the bedroom. The owners dog came running down the stairs from the attic with his ears pinned back as those he was scared. The K2 meter flashed as he came down.
Whilst we were in the cellar a rustling sounds was heard by a male guest, a female guest heard whispering coming from the tunnels whilst wearing the hearing enhancers, a child was also heard sobbing. When we asked the child to come towards us the K2 meter flickered briefly.
A few of the team entered the Ladies/Morning Room where a female guests picked up on the name of a female child called Emily. We tried some glass divination. As we were calling out for Emily to join us the glass moved slightly, then we all heard a noise which sounded like the door handle being turned, then the door started shaking. The female member of staff went to check to see if there was anyone outside but couldn't see anyone or anything that could be making the door rattle. We called out again asking for spirit to come into the room, the guests in that vigil heard a door slam and something that sounded like a chair being moved along the floor, again the female member of staff went to check and found all the doors downstairs open and no chair or furniture had been moved. The group continued to call out and the door continued to rattle and shake like someone was trying to come in. We were then joined by a male member of staff who continued calling out, the more forceful he was with his request the stronger the rattling became.
At the end of the night we did the Human Pendulum and as we called out for the spirits to come forward us the barrier alarm which was situated in a doorway went off.
Another fantastic investigation was had at Carnfield Hall and it definitely lived up to its reputation as being one of the most haunted buildings in Derbyshire and I can say without a doubt that the guest went away very happy with their night.
To experience this kind of phenomena yourself, why not join us when we next return.
Oliver Cromwell’s Home
The beautiful Carnfield Hall is said to be one of the most haunted privately owned buildings in Derbyshire and after the nights investigation I can see why.
During Richard Felix's talk noises were heard out in the Great Hall, 3 guests were given hearing enhancers and stood by the door; they too could hear voices in the Great Hall.
We then started the evening’s investigation with a walk round and whilst we were upstairs in bedroom 1 we had K2 activity and a temperature drop of 7.7 in 20 mins. A guest and female member of staff saw a light anomaly move down the wall then along the curtain rail, it then disappeared.
The beautiful home of Oliver Cromwell in Ely Cambridgeshire was the venue for Compass Paranormal Events and Historian Richard Felix from TV's "Most Haunted”. Whilst Richard Felix was giving us the history of the building and of Oliver Cromwell himself a loud thumping sound was heard above us, like someone was walking around upstairs. I can verify that everyone was downstairs at the time.
As we started the walk around in the Kitchen we heard a noise that sounded like pots and pans being moved.
In the panelled room we heard something that sounded like someone trying to lift the latch on the door to come in. We checked to make sure there was no-one outside and there wasn't!
There was plenty more activity from K2 Meters going off, messages on Ouija Boards, table tipping and childlike sounds.
To find out more from the event you will have to watch this space or attend an event yourself.
