As you know I have been Ghost Hunting for many years, but what exactly are we looking for?

When guests attend a ghost hunt with me or even when I am working on a private ghost hunt, we are never sure what will happen. Remembering that modern day TV shows only show about 1/10 of the show time that it actually took to record it. We have to accept that all TV shows are for entertainment purpose and even with Paranormal Events its just the same. As mediums we must always protect ourselves in terms of insurances just in case anything happens, this also covers us for entertainment purposes.

I always make guest well aware of the difference between Ghosts and Spirits, so how does it work and what is the difference?.

Ghosts – Are purely a ‘video recording’ of a building and its essences, the vision that you will see of a ghost can be the typical white mist or the furry outline of a person, animal or even object. If you want to investigate this further, you would find that it will disappear and then vanish into thin air. You are unable to touch, feel, smell or make contact with it, and nor will it make contact or enter into conversation with you.

A ghostly vision is brought about by an energy reaction on the site, that has caused basically an explosion of energy that has been absorbed into the buildings fabric and structure. This is released at specific times, and this is how we often here of ghosts showing themselves at certain times of the day, month or year. Normally related around an anniversary of an event.

Spirits – are living energy that still survive to this very day, as we all know when a body dies the spirit or soul will continue to live on. It will return to its place of comfort to rest and to ‘live’ its own life. Spirit we know, have intellect and are able to commune with us at anytime as mediums and clairvoyants can speak about. Spirits will give you particular information, and will ensure that you are aware of their presence. You may feel their emotions, strength and often their formation to provide proof.

They will speak about specific traceable data, and will connect you to their memories and thought patterns. They speak about their lives and family and will want to speak about names and dates.

We have to record everything that we see, feel, hear and speak about, to ensure that full traces can be carried out with local history and historians. Traceability is very important as it confirms the information and provides full evidence.

Most reputable mediums will give ‘Proof’ at events, and this will always come naturally. As a Sceptical Medium I would never research history before an event as this give a false or fake impression of what we are trying to do. Some mediums will however do this along with faking activity at events, which they feel is acceptable. Personally I would sooner someone walk away from an event with nothing happening than fake something, what we do isn’t a ‘Ghost Train’ nor is it a’ Freak Show’. Why create something that doesnt exist? It doesn’t give any credibility to us as mediums or paranormal investigators.

I always want people to continue their search for evidence, and would like nothing better than to see them again on another event in the future.
