One of my favourite places for Ghost Hunts is Tutbury castle, the first time I went to Tutbury which is now over 8 years ago, I expected to get Mary Queen of Scots! But boy was I shocked, I remember being sat in the car park before the event and watching all these soldiers, witches, and other spirits all trying to commune with me, I didn’t know whether to drive off or actually attend the event. I have to say I was rather quite scared to start off, in a way you get use to it. You tend to find allot of spirits trying to come forward all pushing for the first place. In my mind I see a long bus queue of spirits all wanting to get on the bus first, this tends to make people laugh as I am not sure how other people visualise the spirit world. Over the past year, every time I visit Tutbury Castle I appear to be making contact with James 1st, he will often come forward now and mutter strange things to me and then he is gone. I hope given time, he will be able to give us more detailed information, but at first I am getting use to him, he needs to get use to me.
The Kings Bedroom at Tutbury holds many secrets, and when people stand in certain positions they get pushed or told to move, they hear whispers in their ears of voices from another time…. Saying GET OUT!.
I guess some of the event I run are more like a Scooby Doo scene, people wondering where to go next and whether to run or to just stand frozen to the spot, but then I do have a sense of humour and often manage to break to ice with a joke.
Some of the old Gaols and Court Rooms have some interesting spirits, they tell you of their crimes, the murders and the life within the place. We always have to remember that spirit are just the same in the spirit as they were when they where down here on earth, they do not change otherwise how would we recognise our loved ones?
Nottingham County Court (Galleries of Justice) seems to be full of surprises when you visit there, it’s full of good and bad villains who want to make themselves known to us via any means. We have everyone from young children to old people, male and female too. I remember on numerous occasion’s ladies complaining as their jewellery had been removed, this seemed to happen fairly often in the night cell area. We would get objects thrown across rooms and also hear knocks and bumps around the place when we knew no one else was around us.
Dudley Castle is another amazing location, however as much as their is spirit presence and evidence, we also have guests! I remember being the undercroft area with around 40 guests one night and one of the guests flicked a coin across the floor, I have never seen so many people try to get through a door way on the dark!.
Pleasley Vale Mills, another haunted location where guests as well as mediums have heard and seen the lift in the building moving of its own accord. People have heard the noises of cart wheels behind them along the road, only to turn around to find nothing there.
The greatest thing for me being a medium is picking up the emotions, some of these are not nice but others just feel lost, lonely, heart broken. I remember visiting the Tomb of Eva Peron in La Recoleta Cemetary in Buenos Aries, the emotion and the love were amazing, I have never experienced this before and I have to say I will always remember that feeling, that love and the wanting.
I have tried not to give too much information away here for any location as I want you as the guests to have your own experience. I want to hear what you have sensed, felt, heard, smelled and also what emotions have come with it.
